Barry Allen
Hey! You've reached Barry Allen. I'm not available to take your call right now because of— a reason. Leave a message or just text me and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. BEEP.
The Flash
This is The Flash. Not Kid Flash or Impulse. The Flash. I can't text and run. I'll get back to you ASAP and you know that's pretty fast coming from me. BEEP.

[DON'T APOLOGIZE, BARRY, HE'S JOKING.]
I think people kind of start to lose sight of what's normal once they get surrounded by weird stuff for too long. People around here definitely count in that category

[ TECHNICALLY. ]
Makes sense even if oddly depressing. You know, the whole losing your wonder for things. Even if those things aren't...good things, you know?
no subject
So you haven't lost your wonder for things after everything that you've seen so far? Like at all?
no subject
And no. Things are weird and arguably I am the impossible and the people I fight are technically impossible. But my whole life has been impossible since I was eleven. You believe in the impossible enough when you're the only person who does and you kind of lose-proof your wonder. I might when I get older but losing your wonder for things isn't what anyone wants. Because it does suck the life out of things.
[ Later on Barry is gonna look at this text and realize apparently telepathic gorilla is the one thing that he will lose his wonder about. ]

[Not all, but some. A great deal of it, honestly. You're an eleven year old assassin who shoots electricity out of his fingertips? Sure, why not. There's an alternate universe where he's been strangled to death? Fine. Whatever. Throw it at him, world, he's ready for you.]
So what's the impossible you believed in anyway? Most impossible thing I believed in when I was eleven was that wookies were out there
[They weren't. There continues to be no wookies in his life, and this come as a great disappointment.]

[ The sad thing is that he is one hundred percent telling the truth. And if he said it out loud he'd have probably said it with a lot of conviction. ]
Me. Sort of. When I was eleven my mom was murdered. I didn't see it but before she was there was lightning around her. Kind of like what I produce when I run. Guy in yellow with superspeed was running around and around her and then I ended up a number of blocks away within a blink. I spent years believing in that. And then I became it and freaked out but now that I've had some time...got to admit still kind of gives me chills with how cool it is.
[ Dear Jaime, he really wishes it was wookies. ]

The reverse flash killed her?

That always kills the conversation. It's...fine. He did and it's something I don't think you want me to get into. You don't have to be sorry. Unless you'd like to tell me you moonlight as him on the weekends. Then we might have a problem. I know you don't but :)?
no subject
That is one of the most inappropriate smileys I've seen but no, I promise I don't moonlight as the reverse flash. And I'm sorry anyway but hopefully you can get the guy locked up for good
[Or kill him! Okay, no. But maybe punch him a few times, buddy.]

I was trying to make sure you knew I knew you weren't. And also to less the tension? I can see it failed miserably. And yeah, I have to catch him first, but thanks. With any luck I will and it'll end well.
As well as it can.
[ NO INSTEAD HE GETS HIM ERASED FROM EXISTENCE. You tried Barry. ]
